Messages From Our Outgoing Principal and Our Incoming Principal

Message from the Outgoing Principal, Ms. Penny L. Brooks:
Dear Midway Families,
It has been an honor to lead and learn with the Midway community for the past four years. It is with much excitement that I announce I will be leaving Midway in the most capable hands of Mr. Randy Johnson (Principal) and Mrs. LeighAnn Adams (Assistant) as I embark on a new adventure. I am very excited to be moving to the central office where I will be working as the Literacy Coordinator for Dinwiddie County Public Schools. For those who know me well, you know my passion is working with the before Kindergarten through 2nd grade population. I truly believe that if we front-load children within the beginning of their academic journey, they will be more successful throughout their academic career. I will forever treasure the relationships and memories made at Midway Elementary and hold them near and dear. This is not good-bye, but farewell for now. I’ll see you soon! 
 
Message from the Incoming Principal, Mr. Randy Johnson:

Dear Midway Parents and Students,

I am extremely excited about joining the Midway family. Midway Elementary has a well earned reputation for excellence and outstanding achievement. I am blessed to be leading a faculty with a reputation for great teaching but more importantly one that genuinely cares for every student that enters our doors.

I know many of you are anxious about the upcoming change in the school leadership. It is my pledge to you that we will provide your children with a safe and caring learning environment. Your students will grow as individuals and learners under the tutelage of not only our teaching faculty but every adult that he or she encounters on a daily basis. I look forward to meeting the students, teachers, staff and parents of the Midway community.

It is my goal to be in place at Midway by the beginning of August. Please do not hesitate to call or drop by. This is going to be an exciting year for all of us, and I cannot wait to get started. Go Midway!
